Accomodation
Alunan Resort offers 23 individually designed double-storey Serenity Suites and 5 Pool View Villas.
Each spacious suite is furnished with floor-to-ceiling glass panels designed to capture the beauty of the vast ocean and lush rainforest; the second floor opens up to your very own private rooftop sun deck where hammocks beckon and sun loungers invite you to experience a world of relaxation. Choose from double, twin, triple, quad sharing and our 2-bedroom family suite.
The spacious villas boast sliding doors and windows, bathing the seamless open-plan bedding, dressing, wardrobe and study spaces with natural light. Unwind from your balcony while looking out to the infinity pool and the sea.
All Serenity Suites and Pool View Villas are equipped with air conditioning.
All Serenity Suites and Pool View Villas come with modern, en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold showers.
We provide a digital safe in each Serenity Suite and Pool View Villa.
There is no mosquito net in the suite. As this is a tropical island with lush vegetation, we would recommend that you use mosquito repellent whenever you are outdoors.
We offer complimentary Wi-Fi internet access at our Resort Lobby. However, due to remote location and limited infrastructure, Wi-Fi connection may be inconsistent.
Presently, we do not provide room service.
Savour all day dining while soaking up the ambience of the island at our Bayu Restaurant. A blend of mouth-watering Western and Malaysian favourites tempts your tastebuds with a rich variety of flavours.
Universal plug points are available in all suites and the electricity voltage is 220-240V. Should you need a universal adapter, please request from our Front Desk.
As we are a non-smoking resort, smoking is not permitted in the suite and on the rooftop sun deck on the second floor. We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit card for any damage (caused by smoking) incurred to your room or the resort during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning).
The tap water in Malaysia is not suitable for drinking without proper filtration/processing. Complimentary bottled water is provided in all Serenity Suites.
At Alunan Resort, we endeavour to accommodate all your requests. Due to the design of our resort, we apologise that we are not able to provide wheelchair friendly accommodation.
Due to the design of our resort, all children (a person under 12 years of age) staying at the resort must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times for their safety.
All our rates are inclusive of breakfast.
We do not allow pets in our resort.
Guests may check-in from 2.00 p.m. On the day of departure we kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 11.00am. Late check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability and may attract additional charges at the discretion of the resort.
Booking and Payment
At the time of booking, full payment of your entire stay will be charged. We will take your credit card details and you authorise the use of this card for any sums that become owing to us. We accept these credit cards : Visa and Mastercard and direct bank transfers.
Yes you can and we accept the following methods of payment: credit cards: Visa and Mastercard via PayPal and via Bank Transfer (CIMB Bank).. Please take note that only your friend/family member will be allowed to check in and we will take his/her ID (for verification) and credit card details or cash deposit (refundable) at the time of check in.

Create your own Package by adding services such as Boat Transfers, Candlelight Dinner and more. Complete your Guest and Credit Card Information. Read our Booking and Cancellation Policies, then click BOOK NOW.
You will receive a confirmation email which includes a booking reference number upon successful booking with full payment.
No, only the person whose name and valid ID stated in the booking confirmation will be allowed to check in.
It is advisable to print out your booking reservation for reference and easy check in at the resort.
There is no minimum number of nights required.

We do not have fixed packages. Instead, we offer the option for you to create your own package on our booking page on www.alunanresort.com
After making your room selection, you can select add-ons such as boat transfers, snorkeling excursions, candlelight dinner, room decoration and more.
The currency in Malaysia is Ringgit Malaysia. Please bring sufficient cash to pay for food and leisure activities as there are no ATM/cash withdrawal machines on the island. We accept the following credit cards at our Reception : Visa and Mastercard.
There is no ATM machine on Perhentian Islands. We recommend that you obtain sufficient cash from the ATM machines at Kota Bharu Airport or at Jerteh which is 20 minutes away by car or taxi from Kuala Besut Jetty.
Transportation
Alunan Resort is located on a quiet, intimate stretch of Petani Beach, on Pulau Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian Island), off the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
Kota Bharu is just a 60-minute drive by taxi to Kuala Besut Jetty (for boat transfer to Perhentian Islands). Please see Getting There for more informaton.
Please be at the Kuala Besut jetty 15 minutes before your boat departure time.
Yes, parking is available at Kuala Besut jetty.

English and Bahasa Malaysia (the national language of Malaysia) are spoken at Alunan Resort and Perhentian Islands.
There is a government health clinic in a village close to Alunan Resort.
Pack for a relaxing vacation in a warm-weather island resort: one or two bathing suits, shorts and t-shirts; perhaps a smart casual outfit or summer dress. Make sure to bring a sun hat, sunglasses, beach wear, flip-flops or sandals, mosquito repellent and sun block. A cardigan or wrap may be needed for air-conditioned areas.
Yes. Please take note that there is a RM60 corkage fee for each bottle of wine, RM 80 for each bottle of champagne, RM120 for each bottle of liquor/liqueur and RM 2 for every bottle/can of beer when consumed at our Bayu Restaurant. We serve cocktails and other alcoholic drinks at our Bar.
Yes. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements at the time of booking.
We do not have a spa at the moment.
The Perhentian Islands have a year round hot tropical climate (average temperature: 30 degrees Celsius) with occasional rain.
Precipitation is highest from December to January due to the North-east Monsoon. During this season, the sea is very rough and almost all resorts are closed and there are no boat services. Alunan Resort will be closed during this period.
Our beach is safe for swimming and snorkelling at your own risk as there is no lifeguard on the beach. Please bring and wear booties or reef shoes to protect your feet against rocks and coral.
