Accomodation

There is no mosquito net in the suite/villa. As this is a tropical island with lush vegetation, we would recommend that you use mosquito repellent whenever you are outdoors.

Presently, we do not provide room service.

Universal plug points are available in all suites/villas and the electricity voltage is 220-240V. Should you need a universal adapter, please request from our Front Desk.

As we are a non-smoking resort, smoking is not permitted in the suite/villa and on the balcony. We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit card for any damage (caused by smoking) incurred to your room or the resort during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning).

The tap water in Malaysia is not suitable for drinking without proper filtration/processing. Metal water bottles are provided during check-in and you can enjoy complimentary water refills from our drinking water dispensers located at Bayu Restaurant, Sunset Deck as well as various locations around the resort.

A personal drinking water dispenser is provided in Pool View Villas.

At Alunan Resort, we endeavour to accommodate all your requests. Due to the design of our resort, we apologise that we are not able to provide wheelchair friendly accommodation.

Due to the design of our resort, all children (a person under 12 years of age) staying at the resort must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times for their safety.

We do not allow pets in our resort.

Guests may check-in from 2.00 p.m. On the day of departure we kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 11.00am. Late check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability and may attract additional charges at the discretion of the resort.

Booking and Payment

At the time of booking, full payment of your entire stay will be charged. We will take your credit card details and you authorise the use of this card for any sums that become owing to us. We accept these credit cards : Visa and Mastercard and direct bank transfers.

Yes you can and we accept the following methods of payment: credit cards: Visa and Mastercard via PayPal and via Bank Transfer (CIMB Bank).. Please take note that only your friend/family member will be allowed to check in and we will take his/her ID (for verification) and credit card details or cash deposit (refundable) at the time of check in.

You will receive a confirmation email which includes a booking reference number upon successful booking with full payment.

No, only the person whose name and valid ID stated in the booking confirmation will be allowed to check in.

It is advisable to print out your booking reservation for reference and easy check in at the resort.

A minimum 2 nights stay is required for all bookings.

The currency in Malaysia is Ringgit Malaysia. Please bring sufficient cash to pay for food and leisure activities as there are no ATM/cash withdrawal machines on the island. We accept the following credit cards at our Reception : Visa and Mastercard.

There is no ATM machine on Perhentian Islands. We recommend that you obtain sufficient cash from the ATM machines at Kota Bharu Airport or at Jerteh which is 20 minutes away by car or taxi from Kuala Besut Jetty.

Transportation

Alunan Resort is located on a quiet, intimate stretch of Petani Beach, on Pulau Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian Island), off the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Yes, parking is available at Kuala Besut jetty. Our staff at Alunan Resort Kuala Besut Office will assist you.

All suite/villa rates are inclusive of return boat transfers. Please contact us at [email protected] upon booking to arrange boat transfers based on scheduled timings stated on our Getting Here page. The following charges will apply if you miss these scheduled boat timings :

English and Bahasa Malaysia (the national language of Malaysia) are spoken at Alunan Resort and Perhentian Islands.

There is a government health clinic in a village close to Alunan Resort.

Pack for a relaxing vacation in a warm-weather island resort: one or two bathing suits, shorts and t-shirts; perhaps a smart casual outfit or summer dress. Make sure to bring a sun hat, sunglasses, beach wear, flip-flops or sandals, mosquito repellent and sun block. A cardigan or wrap may be needed for air-conditioned areas.

Yes. Please take note that there is a RM60 corkage fee for each bottle of wine, RM 80 for each bottle of champagne, RM120 for each bottle of liquor/liqueur and RM 2 for every bottle/can of beer when consumed at our Bayu Restaurant and Sunset Deck. We serve cocktails and other alcoholic drinks at our Sunset Deck.

Yes. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Yes. Vayu Spa is available from 10.00am to 9.00pm. Please book your spa session in advance via our Front Office or via WhatsApp to our Reservation Team to avoid disappointment.

The Perhentian Islands have a year round hot tropical climate (average temperature: 30 degrees Celsius) with occasional rain.

Precipitation is highest from December to January due to the North-east Monsoon. During this season, the sea is very rough and almost all resorts are closed and there are no boat services. Alunan Resort will be closed during this period.

Our beach is safe for swimming and snorkelling at your own risk as there is no lifeguard on the beach. Please bring and wear booties or reef shoes to protect your feet against rocks and coral.
